This week, as the holiday season is approaching, I have been thinking of you all. I cannot believe how far 2024 has gone already. This time of the year has always been very sentimental because holidays are all about the people I love. I’m FULL of gratitude for everyone! Each year, I get excited about what I can give to the people around me. I used to buy many gifts and send out as many thank you cards as possible, to the point where I exhausted myself. But this year, I have to tell myself every time that it’s not about what I give; it’s about the love and the thought behind my gift that brings its value. For that reason, I wanted to remind you all this holiday that no matter what you receive from the people around you, whether you like it or not, accept it with gratitude, knowing that it all comes from their hearts. It's the same reminder when you think of a gift for someone. It’s the thought and the love that counts!!!
Growing up, I love writing cards and letters. I have a huge box dedicated to myself with all the cards and letters I received. No matter what season I’m in, it always reminds me how much I have been loved, and knowing that fills my heart. This year, I want to do the same for you as a way to thank you for all the support you have given me. I would love to send you a surprise gift or a letter. Please message me here or email me at juliev.dhvu@gmail.com with your mailing address, and I will get it ready as soon as I receive your information. If you have someone in mind who would find this gift meaningful, feel free to send their information my way or simply share this post! We never know that it could reach the people who need it.
This holiday season, I wanted to encourage you to make a meaningful impact on the lives of those around you through small but significant actions. Consider becoming a Secret Santa for someone in need. Think about individuals in your community who might be struggling and surprise them with a thoughtful gift, showing them that they’re not alone during this holiday. Reach out to your parents with a phone call or video chat. Share stories, reminisce about good times, and let them know how much they mean to you. A heartfelt message can strengthen your bond with your parent and bring joy to their day! Don’t forget your friends! Take the time to send them a handwritten card or a personalized message, expressing your appreciation for their friendship. You could even treat someone to a meal, whether by dining together or giving them a gift card to their favorite restaurant. Another impactful way to share the holiday spirit is by donating gifts or essentials to local children’s hospitals or churches. These organizations often have programs supporting families in need, and your generosity can bring smiles to many faces during the holiday season. Every small gesture, whether it’s a simple “checking in” text, a supportive phone call, or a warm hug, has the power to uplift someone’s spirit. <3
I understand that life isn't always filled with sunshine and rainbows. However, remember that God has equipped you with the strength to navigate through tough times, and he will never forget about you! So embrace the holiday spirit by giving and connecting with those around you. Remember, you get to give, not that you have to give—that will bring you much peace! Until then, I wish you a joyful and fulfilling holiday season!
Love~JV
